About Grace
I have spent the last twenty-three years as an elementary school teacher in both private and public school settings. My role as a learning specialist over the last five years widened my experience and deepened my commitment to providing innovative educational experiences to students. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Western Carolina University, I attended San Francisco State University where I obtained a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Language and Literacy. Additionally, I received a Reading Credential to instruct students in the area of literacy from grades Kindergarten to grade 12.

I scaffold lessons according to age, grade level, and benchmark standards.
My literacy lessons include reading high quality text, phonics instruction (if needed), writing, and games to review concepts.
I teach students how to use authors as mentors during writing workshop.
Selecting high quality independent reading books will also be a focus.
I instill a love of learning.
