About Amon
I’m a media producer and educator with a background that spans broadcast animation, travel photography, and video storytelling. I started my career working in post-production and animation, spending years inside tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Avid, Final Cut, Photoshop, and Illustrator. That technical foundation eventually expanded into real-world production. The majority of my professional work has been with destination marketing organizations and brands, including Miles Media, Odyssey Studios, I Love New York, Visit Florida, Travel Oregon, and Macy’s, along with a wide range of private clients. My projects have included short-form content, marketing films, sizzle reels, interviews, and documentary-style pieces. I’ve collaborated with and given lectures for institutions such as NYU and the School of Visual Arts, and I’ve served as a guest speaker sharing real-world creative experience with students and emerging artists. I’m also the founder of New York Said, a cultural archive built from hundreds of one-on-one conversations with native and notable New Yorkers. That project reflects my long-standing interest in storytelling, listening, and capturing real voices with whatever tools are available, from high-end cameras to simple mobile setups. I’ve been a private contractor for over a decade, working independently across many types of projects. Editing is at the center of what I do. It’s the skill that connects everything, and it’s what continues to bring me work. When students work with me, they’re learning from someone who has used these tools in real situations, for real clients, with real constraints, and who enjoys explaining the process in a calm, practical, and human way.

My approach to teaching Adobe Premiere Pro is very real-world and very conversational. I’ve made short-form videos, YouTube videos, marketing pieces, sizzle reels, short films, and quick turnaround edits. I teach from lived experience, not theory. I don’t rush people into effects or shortcuts. I start with understanding.
Before you can edit, you need to understand the language of Premiere Pro. What footage do you have? What do you want to make? What is the goal of the video? Once those questions are clear, the software stops feeling overwhelming and starts making sense.
I teach the way I would explain things to a friend. Calm, patient, and direct.
Questions are always welcome.
