About Orla

My teaching journey has been shaped by a genuine passion for music and education. Over the past 17 years, I have taught flute to school and college students with different abilities and learning goals. I believe every lesson should be enjoyable while building strong technical skills.

Students learn breathing exercises, posture correction, finger techniques, rhythm, scales, tone development, articulation, and expressive performance. I motivate students to celebrate every improvement because steady progress leads to lasting success.

Besides flute, I also teach music theory, ear training, sight reading, rhythm practice, music appreciation, and beginner composition. My mission is to help students become confident musicians who continue learning with enthusiasm.

About the lesson

I believe every student has the ability to become a confident flute player with the right guidance and encouragement. My teaching methodology is built on Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity. These values help me create lessons that are enjoyable, organized, and effective for students of different ages and skill levels.

Before starting lessons, I learn about each student's musical interests, goals, and experience. This helps me create a personalized learning plan. Beginners focus on breathing exercises, posture, finger placement, rhythm, note reading, and tone production. As students improve, they learn scales, articulation, dynamics, musical phrasing, improvisation, ornamentation, and performance skills.

I use motivation to build confidence by celebrating every achievement and encouraging regular practice. Communication is always simple, patient, and interactive so students can understand concepts clearly and ask questions without hesitation. Integrity is shown through honesty, respect, fairness, punctuality, and equal attention for every learner.

Creativity keeps every lesson exciting. I include classical music, devotional songs, film melodies, rhythm activities, ear training, duet practice, listening exercises, breathing drills, and fun musical challenges. Besides flute, I also teach music theory, recorder, beginner keyboard, sight reading, rhythm training, ear training, music appreciation, and stage performance.

My aim is to help students become skilled musicians who enjoy learning and continue growing with confidence.
