About Isabel

I’m a friendly and patient tutor based in Edinburgh, currently in school myself and passionate about helping others learn, especially when it comes to maths. It’s always been one of my favourite subjects, but I know that not everyone feels the same. That’s why I focus on making things as simple and clear as possible, helping my students build confidence step by step. I achieved all As at Higher level (including an A1 in maths). On top of this I achieved all A1s in my National 5s and I really want to help others achieve that as well. Whether you’re just needing a bit of extra support or aiming to boost your grades, I’d love to help you get there. I teach Maths, English, Business, Biology, Chemistry and Economics at a National 5 level and below.

About the lesson

I offer lessons between 30 minutes and 2 hours, either in person or online. Every student is different, so I start by giving a quick test to identify their strengths and areas to improve. From there, I create a personalised plan to help them get the most out of our sessions. Not only this, but I also have resources that I used in my National 5s available to my students such as my notes, flashcards, textbooks and more. I’ve been tutoring students aged 12 and under for 2 years, and those aged 13–15 for around a year and a half. I’m proud to say that all of my National 5 students have improved significantly; many went from predicted C grades to achieving an A.

Isabel is lovely and was amazing help for my daughter!!! She started working with my younger daughter around October, and by December we started noticing a lot of progress. I was very pleased with her work ethic, and how well she managed to explain everything to Emily (my daughter) with patience . She was a joy to have, and definitely helped my daughter pass her Nat5’s. Thank you so much Isabel!!!

Isabel was a great tutor and really helped my son understand maths before starting national 5. Couldn't recommend her more and thought her rate was great considering her help. Will be using her again as my son progresses through his National 5s!
