About Helen
As the daughter of an immigrant mother who makes a living off Chinese tutoring, I am always inspired by her passion and dedication to her career and the way she uplifts her students to see the language as more than an examinable subject but a tapestry of culture and history. As a Bilingualism DSA student to Nanyang Girls' High School, I am confident in my abilities to teach my realm of expertise, especially given my prior experience in Chinese group tutoring.

I believe in making language and instrument learning an immersive experience where one methodologically grasps not just basic technique but also the hidden artistry of the craft. My lessons are usually 2 hours. I have done free Chinese tutoring for group classes before, targeting primary school children, and designed my classes in a way that teaches from children's literature rather than the rigid textbook curriculum, though I can modify that to fit a more exam-centred approach. My lessons are for primary school children looking to enhance their English and Chinese skills though I can offer French and Guzheng tutoring for all age groups.
