About Elizibeth

I am a passionate violin tutor with 8 years of teaching and professional music experience, dedicated to helping students develop technical mastery, musical expression, and self-confidence. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.

One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been seeing students progress from struggling with posture, technique, or stage confidence to performers capable of playing with skill, expression, and emotional depth.

My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive playing.

I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide students with a complete musical education. I personalise lessons to each student’s pace, learning style, and goals, creating a patient, supportive, and inspiring environment where students feel encouraged to explore and grow. Teaching violin allows me to instil confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music in every student.

About the lesson

I teach violin using a methodology grounded in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, aimed at creating well-rounded musicians who are technically proficient, expressive, and confident. Lessons are structured yet flexible, combining technical exercises, creative exploration, improvisation, and performance preparation tailored to each student’s goals and abilities.

Motivation drives engagement. I guide students to set clear, achievable goals, monitor progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering perseverance, self-confidence, and love for music. Communication ensures lessons are interactive and collaborative, providing a safe space to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas.

Creativity is emphasised in every lesson. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises help students develop their personal artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity reinforces disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that ensure consistent progress and long-term success.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, providing a complete musical foundation. This methodology develops technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and a lifelong passion for music.
