About Rofiul

I am a practicing Advocate of the Hon'ble Gauhati High Court and enrolled with the BCI competently bestowed with a 1st Class LL.M degree along with the requisite qualifications to be a Lawyer. There is nothing more I can say at this juncture save this, that I am the "friendly neighborhood" Lawman, with a taste for sharing knowledge (and food) and running quite a successful career at the Bar and Litigation. Teaching has always been at the back of my mind but I never imagined myself in a "school-atmosphere". Be that as it may, my work and time at the High Court has taught me a lot of things, which of course and understandably will not be possible for any college or school syllabus to cover, which I would love to share with my students because I am of the firm belief that these things shall be of immense help to any law student in the long run.

About the lesson

I will focus mainly on the concepts, recent course, the hows and whys accompanied by lots of case laws and emerging trends in this area. The Dynamics of law is ever changing with the changes in society which operate at the grass root level and it becomes incumbent on the lawman to strike a fine balance between the basic structure of the law currently operating and the innovation that is sought to be introduced in order to tackle new age legal complications. Be it the Criminal law or Civil law the introduction of new tools of investigation and new and striking interpretations of the law by the Apex Court tends to change the flow of jurisprudence involved in these areas. As a result it becomes necessary to be on a constant watch for new and emerging trends in the operation of law of the Union and it is immensely desireable of a law student to have a grasp of not only the present and emerging trend of a law, but also to have a thorough idea of the law as it was propounded...to know about a law from its embryonic to fully developed and born stage.
This is why, the basic concept has to be absolutely clear, why something was necessary, how is it necessary and in what ways it shall remain necessary to the society.
A very fine way of reading the law is to be in the company of case laws. The facts in issue, law involved and the interpretations. A student gains a lot from going through case laws, discussing the issues involved, invoking their legal creativity and trying to answer in a different light and trying out various possible ways to arrive at the solution to the issues involved and finally comparing their perspective with that of the Judges', a student can learn a lot from case laws. It is a staple diet should a law student desire to be healthy.
Our classes therefore shall remain focused on clearing the concepts and in depth study of the case laws and a thorough study of the syllabus at hand; revised notes and materials to facilitate the learning process, reference books and notes shall be available, and a friendly atmosphere shall prevail at all times to facilitate a proper give and take learning process.
