About Ali
As a tutor, I combine recent academic experience with a professional background, bringing a unique perspective to my teaching. Having completed my A-levels not too long ago, I understand the challenges students face and know the skills needed to excel. Currently, I’m working as an aerospace engineer while pursuing a degree, which strengthens my problem-solving abilities and keeps my technical skills sharp.
My lessons are structured to build both confidence and competence. I focus on clear, step-by-step explanations and encourage active participation to ensure a deep understanding. My approach to tutoring GCSE and A-level Maths is structured and interactive, focusing on building understanding and confidence. I use a blend of explanation, examples, and practice problems, adapting to each student's learning style.
Lessons typically last one hour, with the first 15 minutes dedicated to reviewing previous topics to reinforce retention. The main segment involves focused teaching on current topics, with guided practice. I finish each session with a 10-minute summary quiz to assess comprehension and highlight areas needing improvement.
I bring years of informal tutoring experience, having helped younger siblings and family friends excel in their studies. Additionally, I’ve gained coaching and mentoring experience, as a football coach and prefect, that enhances my ability to guide students effectively.
These lessons are designed for secondary school students (ages 14-18) preparing for GCSEs or A-levels, particularly those aiming to improve their understanding and grades in Maths.
