About Aamir

I am an Aerospace engineering student at the University of Bristol and I have just finished my first year. Maths and Further Maths were my favourite subjects at A-level which was due to my amazing teachers. Through tutoring, I want to help students just the way my teachers helped me to excel in these subjects. I understand the difficulties and challenges of A-levels and can relate more to my students, being a student myself. I want to share the passion I have for Maths and inspire curiosity to develop a deeper understanding of the subject. I see tutoring as a valuable experience and I believe I can have a positive impact on the students through my teaching.

About the lesson

I would be inclined to understand the unique needs and learning styles of each student. Therefore, tailoring my lessons by adapting to their preference and pace. A strong foundation on topics especially in Maths is essential for success, therefore my first and most important goal as a tutor would be to make sure the core principles are clearly understood and mastered first before trying to move on to more complex topics. My lessons would involve an introduction/background of the topic followed by example questions involving discussions, tips and tricks, then finally ending with practice questions done in the session to solidify the understanding of the topic. Practice questions in the lesson itself will allow me to see gaps in understanding and therefore provide guidance accordingly. Periodic short quizzes would allow progress to be determined which is highly important to reflect on the topics covered and identify areas of improvement. The length of the lesson would ideally be one hour, however, this can vary depending on the student’s preferences.

I did A-levels in Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science receiving A*A*A*A*. I am a passionate and dedicated tutor who wants to pass on the guidance and help that allowed me to excel at my A-levels. My academic performance gives me confidence that I will be able to positively influence the student to do well in his studies. I am aiming to teach A-level Maths and Further Maths.
