  • 1) When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

I started playing chess when I was seven years old. I fell in love with the game and everything about it. I began training with a private coach and achieved results within two years. My passion for achieving more success and accomplishments grew, and chess became an essential part of my life.
  • 2) Which artists or works affect you the most?

I have been greatly influenced by the playing styles of some of the greatest players in history, especially Anatoly Karpov. Having the opportunity to play an official match against him in 2009 and securing a draw was a turning point in my chess journey. It gave me a strong motivation to achieve remarkable accomplishments.

I was also influenced by Mikhail Botvinnik's style, known for his deep strategic thinking and rigorous training and analysis methodology.
  • 3) What are the qualities and skill required to succeed in this area?

Success in chess requires patience, strategic thinking, deep analytical skills, and persistence in continuous learning. Additionally, the ability to control emotions and make well-calculated decisions under pressure is one of the most crucial skills.
  • 4) What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

You must have a clear vision of your goal and maintain your passion through continuous learning and enjoying the journey. Most importantly, never give up when facing challenges; instead, see them as part of growth and development.

Choosing a coach who is energetic, positive, and confidence-boosting is essential for success. Their support and guidance can help trainees stay focused and maximize their potential.
  • 5) How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

I believe that chess is not just a game; it is a complete intellectual exercise that enhances focus, strengthens memory, and provides strategic thinking applicable to various aspects of life.

This profound game equips us with experiences and lessons that help us make decisions with confidence and awareness. My passion for chess stems from my deep understanding and the sense of achievement I get with every step forward in my progress. It also gives me great confidence in myself and a broad imagination for analysis and logical reasoning. I see every challenge as a new opportunity to learn and improve. This makes me more focused, aware, and adaptable-both in chess and in life.
  • 6) What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

I am proud to have been Syria's national chess champion for 20 years, winning numerous international and Arab tournaments. I am also very proud of my role as a coach and international arbiter, where I help spread this game and teach it to people.
  • 7) Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

Yes, several times! I have seen students start from scratch at different ages, and with training, practice, and passion, they become outstanding players in a short time. One of the most beautiful moments is seeing the same passion in their eyes that I had at the beginning of my success.
  • 8) Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

My secret lies in passion, dedication, and the ability to see hidden potential in every trainee. I believe that every person has a unique talent, and my role as a coach is to help them discover it.
