About Line

With over 15 years of creative experience and a decade of stage-proven performance, I offer a unique, patient approach to music mentorship. My background is rooted in high-level collaboration, including being recruited by the Central Kentucky Blues Society Youth Band and performing as a rhythm guitarist in a rock band for five years. I also spent time studying Songwriting and Audio Production at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). These experiences gave me the professional tools to understand music deeply, but my true strength lies in my ability to simplify that knowledge for others.

I am a self-taught songwriter and a "slow learner" by nature, having navigated challenges with small motor skills throughout my life. I reached my goals by working with peer mentors who helped me find workarounds and smarter ways to practice. Because of this, I specialize in helping students who feel overwhelmed by traditional, fast-paced teaching. I am not here to be a rigid lecturer; I am here to be the "practice buddy" who ensures you have the tools and the confidence to keep going.

I am not a primary instructor or a formal professor. I am a dedicated practice buddy and peer mentor with over a decade of experience navigating the same struggles you’re facing. I specialize in the "survival skills" of music—helping you simplify difficult concepts so you can stay motivated. I understand exactly what it feels like to be a slow learner. I focus on patience, encouragement, and finding the "workarounds" that make music fun instead of frustrating as you develop your skills.

Simplification Techniques: We take the "technical" homework from your main teacher and break it down into manageable steps.

The "Anchor" Method: I’ll show you how to use pivot fingers to make chord transitions smoother and faster.

Alternative Shapes: If a chord is too hard, we find a "cheat" version that sounds great so you don't lose motivation.

Peer Encouragement: I provide a low-pressure environment where it is safe to make mistakes and ask "simple" questions.

My sessions are designed to supplement your main learning or hobbyist practice:
The "Hurdle" Check (5 mins): We identify the one thing (a chord, a transition, a lyric) that is currently frustrating you.
Guided Practice (15 mins): We sit and play through the difficult part together. I offer real-time feedback on your finger placement and rhythm.
Creative Collaboration (10 mins): We look at your songwriting or vocal ideas. With my 15 years of lyric writing and 12 years of choir experience, I can help you find the right "vibe" or melody.

I offer relatability over rigidity. I’ve spent 7 years in guitar lessons and 4 years in private vocal coaching, so I know how to read sheet music and chord diagrams—but I also know how it feels to struggle to keep up. I’m the person you talk to when you need a "translator" for complex music theory or just someone to sit and practice with so you don't feel alone in the process.

These lessons are specifically for:
Beginners Seeking a Buddy: Students who want a low-stakes environment to practice the basics.
Self-Taught Songwriters: People who have lyrics and melodies but need help pairing them with chords.
Frustrated Learners: Anyone who feels they are "learning too slowly" and needs an encouraging peer who understands that pace.
Hobbyists: People playing for fun who want to skip the "boring stuff" and just play their favorite songs.
