About Elena

I am an Afrikaner who moved to New Zealand in 2019. My lifelong passion for learning naturally evolved into a love for teaching, and I bring that enthusiasm into my lessons. Afrikaans is more than just a language to me, it’s part of who I am. I eat, sleep, and dream in my "taal" (language). Living in a foreign country has deepened my appreciation for my "moedertaal" (mother tongue). It made me realize how easily we take for granted the ability to express ourselves in our native tongue. That’s why I’m committed to sharing Afrikaans with others, as a language and a gateway to culture, connection, and personal growth.

Afrikaans Tutoring – Online or In-Person Whether you're just starting out or looking to deepen your understanding of Afrikaans, I offer flexible, engaging lessons tailored to your goals. Lesson Length Typical sessions run for 60 minutes, with options for shorter or extended lessons depending on your needs. My Experience I have a strong background in education, with experience designing learning activities that are both effective and enjoyable.
