  • 1) Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

Honestly, my first real experience with computers was more about curiosity than “being good with tech.” I wasn’t drawn to spreadsheets or coding—I was fascinated that you could mix images, music, and little video clips and actually make something. Over time, the computer stopped feeling like this complicated machine and started feeling more like a creative partner, a place where I could shape ideas into something people could watch and feel.
  • 2) What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

The biggest change for me has been how much more reachable everything is now. What used to take a full studio and a big budget, you can now do on a decent laptop with Premiere Pro. The next big shift is AI—not to replace people, but to take care of the boring, repetitive stuff so you can spend more time actually telling stories and making creative choices instead of fighting the software.
  • 3) Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

I focus on video editing—mainly Adobe Premiere Pro—and helping people build a simple, repeatable way of working so they don’t feel lost every time they open a project. I’m really interested in that sweet spot between creativity and structure, because most people aren’t short on ideas; they just don’t know how to turn those ideas into a finished video. In a world where so much communication happens on screen, being able to edit your own videos is like having a louder, clearer voice online.
  • 4) Do so-called “visionaries” inspire you or do you have other role models?

I respect big names like Steve Jobs and what they’ve done, but the people who really inspire me are the ones quietly doing the work day after day. Editors, filmmakers, and creators who keep showing up, keep improving, and don’t need a spotlight to stay committed. That steady, practical approach is what I try to bring into my sessions—less hype, more real progress.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

I remember sitting for hours, bouncing between random tutorials, pausing and rewinding, and still feeling like I didn’t “get it.” I knew how to click buttons, but I didn’t understand how it all fit together. Things finally clicked when someone sat down with me and walked through a simple workflow, step by step, and explained why we were doing each thing. That experience stuck with me. It’s why, when I teach now, I focus on giving people that same clarity so they can stop guessing and start actually finishing videos.
  • 6) What would you say to someone who finds IT too complicated?

I’d start by saying: you’re not the only one who feels that way. Most people get overwhelmed because they’re trying to learn everything at once. With something like video editing, you really only need a few basics to start—how to organize your clips, build a simple sequence, and make basic cuts. Once those feel comfortable, the rest stops looking like a wall of buttons and starts feeling like options you can explore when you’re ready.
  • 7) What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

I’m passionate about storytelling in pretty much any form—film, writing, or even how someone presents themselves in business. I’m also a Realtor, so a lot of my days are spent helping people make big decisions without feeling overwhelmed. Whether it’s a house or a video project, I’m drawn to helping people find clarity, calm down the stress, and move forward with a plan.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in IT?

A lot of my students come to me feeling intimidated, stuck, or convinced they’re “just not techy.” What I’m good at is meeting them right there. I don’t just show where the buttons are; I help build a process they can lean on so they don’t freeze up the next time they sit down to edit. With almost 20 years in video and a very hands-on style, my goal is that you walk away not just understanding the software, but actually finishing videos you’re proud of—and feeling a lot less scared of the tech in the process.
