About Laura
Hi!
My name is Laura and I am 21 years old. I was born in the USA and moved to Spain at a young age. I recently moved back to the States to complete a double Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology and Behavioral Neuroscience. This is my 4th year as a double major undergrad student in Florida. I am also currently a lab member in the Nadler's Marine Behavioral and Physiology lab. My hobbies include teaching, working out, traveling, going on outdoor adventures, and hanging out with friends.
I have always been passionate about helping others achieve their goals and creating a learning environment where they can succeed. I offer English classes for students of all ages struggling with the subject, as well as TOEFL and SAT preparation for students who want to attend college in the U S.
For SAT and Toefl preparation, students will receive material such as texts and worksheets from the official guides. I would facilitate all learning material, guide students through their mistakes, and provide strategies on how to face each kind of problem they could come across. My teaching is based on getting to know yourself; doing a lot of practice problems mimicking the real exam setting so they can learn from their mistakes and work on their weaknesses.
I can also bring insight and advice on the rigorous process that applying for US universities entails.
I love teaching and have had previous experience tutoring English in the Red Cross.
