About David
I'm a psychology student with a background in language learning and teaching and an avid self-teacher. I started tutoring English when I lived in Paris when I was 12, and designed board games and wide games to teach kids younger than myself. Nowadays I teach French and English ESL using technology and art to stick things in people's heads. I also love developing my digital art skills and sharing this growing field with others.

Did you know that free animation programs have caught up with professional software? Now's your chance to bring life to your characters and stories!
I'm a huge art nerd and I've been finding ways to learn animation at the same rate as my friends in animation school, using free programs and free resources. I now work on porfolio projects with 3rd year animation students.
Through my self-teaching experience, I've broken it all down into several key skills to get you confident enough to make your own projects, which we will do as a series of training activities and mini-projects, as we work towards a short animation that you design from scratch.

Details
I can lend you a drawing tablet for the first 3 lessons but you will need to buy your own eventually. They are quite cheap nowadays, I bought one for $40 that performs great! and if you book 10 hours I'll even buy you the entry level model for free!
My favourite cheaper model is the XP-Pen Star G640S, but if you're a stickler for big brands you can always find a second hand Wacom Intuos for under $90 second hand.
