About Yuri
I am an approachable and enthusiastic Mathematics alumna from Imperial College London.
I have 9 years of experience tutoring across Maths and Sciences from ages 5-18 (IGCSE/GCSE, A Levels, TMUA, Imperial admissions tests) and entrance exams prep (11+/13+). All of my students have achieved 8 or above in their Maths and Chemistry GCSEs and I have a demonstrable track record of helping students get into competitive London independent schools (Whitgift, Latymer Upper, Alleyn's etc).

I teach with the mindset that everyone has the potential to succeed and am dedicated to making sure that pupils fully understand the concepts being taught as a result of my patient approach to teaching. I would describe my style as approachable while providing structure.
I strongly avoid reliance on rote memorisation, and prioritise conceptual understanding and where appropriate, stretch questions. This ensures students are equipped to problem solve and are not overly reliant on similarly worded questions during exams. Lessons usually begin with a recap of topics covered last time or feedback from homework, but this is subject to the student's needs.
