About Sumei
I started playing flute at the age of 7, passing my Grade 8 Flute with Distinction in 2017 and subsequently my ARSM Diploma in 2018. Since then I have performed in recitals, notably as part of the Youth in Music programme in the Southern Cathedrals Festival 2018. I have performed in orchestras (classical and for shows). I have experience teaching children from beginners up to Grade 5 standard.
I have just completed my gap year as a music and languages teaching assistant in a prep school in London, where I helped teach and supervise music practice. I look forward to starting at Trinity College, Cambridge in October, where I will read Modern and Medieval Languages as a choral scholar.

Our lessons will be tailored towards your specific needs. If you are working towards a specific grade (ABRSM, Trinity or any others!), then our lessons will have a focus on this. If you are a beginner, then we will set small goals, starting with note learning, technique and fluency, and working towards building up your repertoire. If you want to play for fun, then I can help you learn specific pieces and suggest other pieces for you!
