About Chris
I’m an illustrator, visual development artist, and art director with decades of experience creating professional artwork for games, entertainment, publishing, and licensed properties. My work has ranged from concept design and character development to polished commercial illustration, trading card art, game visuals, and production-ready artwork.
Over the years, I’ve created work for companies and clients including Bally Technologies, SHFL Entertainment, Marvel, Fleer, Sony, Wizards of the Coast, Electronic Arts, San Diego Comic-Con, Smart Bomb Interactive, Guitar World, Iron Crown Enterprises, and other entertainment, publishing, and design studios.
My work has also been recognized in publications and exhibitions such as ImagineFX, Spectrum, The Art of Marvel Comics, the Society of Illustrators Student Competition, Springville Salon, Bountiful Davis Art Center, and San Diego Comic-Con.
What I bring to teaching is real production experience. I understand what separates amateur work from professional work: stronger drawing, better design choices, clearer storytelling, sharper composition, cleaner color, and knowing how to finish an image. My goal is to help students build those skills directly and practically.

My lessons are built around real professional illustration skills, not classroom filler. I teach drawing, composition, color, Photoshop, character design, concept development, portfolio improvement, and AI-assisted art workflows through direct, practical instruction.
My background includes 35+ years as an illustrator and Art Director in AAA games, casino game art, slot visual development, licensed IP, and commercial production. I have also developed a full four-year illustration curriculum, so lessons can be structured for beginners, serious students, or working artists who want sharper, more marketable work.
The goal is simple: help you think, draw, design, and finish work at a higher professional level.
