About Catherin

I am a passionate saxophone teacher with 6 years of teaching experience and a successful record of training around 300 students. I work with high school students, college students, and adult learners at different skill levels. I strongly believe that music should be learned with joy and confidence. My teaching philosophy is based on understanding, regular practice, and positive support. I begin with basic training in breathing, posture, finger control, rhythm, and sound production. These skills help students develop a clean and confident tone. Once students are comfortable, I introduce scales, exercises, songs, and performance preparation. I customise each lesson according to the student’s ability and interest. Along with saxophone training, I also teach basic music theory, ear training, sight reading, and simple improvisation. These skills help students become independent and confident musicians. Many of my students have participated in school and college cultural programmes. Some have also achieved high marks in music practical exams. I always create a friendly learning environment where students feel comfortable and motivated. My goal is to help students enjoy music while building strong skills.

About the lesson

My saxophone teaching methodology follows four strong values: Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity. I believe learning music should be enjoyable, structured, and meaningful. I begin by checking the student’s musical background and setting clear, achievable goals. Motivation is built through encouragement, regular feedback, and celebrating progress. I help students stay consistent with practice by giving simple and effective exercises. Communication is clear and student-friendly. I explain breathing techniques, embouchure, tone quality, scales, rhythm, articulation, and music reading in a way that is easy to understand. Integrity guides my teaching style. I maintain discipline, honesty, and strong work ethics in every lesson. I make sure students build a strong foundation and grow step by step without shortcuts. Creativity is encouraged through improvisation, different music styles, duet practice, and performance activities. In addition to saxophone, I teach music theory, rhythm training, sight-reading, ear training, and stage performance skills. I also guide students in basic composition and listening skills. My goal is to build confident, skilled, and creative saxophone players.
