About Antonio

I am passionate in Science and Maths and enjoyed working with young students to inspire them, improve their self-confidence and stimulate their curiosity towards these disciplines.
I am calm, friendly and reflective, patient and hard working
I like asking questions and pushing students to think. I love to improve my understanding of students and their learning process.
I am fascinated by extracurricular activities in education, in particular citizen science projects with young students.
I have worked as Post Doctorate researcher at University College London and I have written articles on Physics, Chemistry and Materials Science.
I love music, playing guitar and violin, doing sport (football, surf and gym), I like photography, art, travelling, reading and cooking. I like sci-fi. My favourite Physics topic: "quantum tunneling".

About the lesson

My lessons are based on an interactive approach: I first ask diagnostic questions to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the student and eventual misconceptions; then I explain the misconceptions using illustrations and examples.
I also check the understanding of the student using problems and different contexts in which students can apply their understanding.
I use illustrations, animations, videos and powerpoint slides in my lessons.
I also produce notes both in online and in presence lessons.
I usually make the students practise past paper questions and assign regular homework that I correct, producting a feedback.
Typical length is between 1 hour and 2 hour (in the latter case with a break of 10 minutes).
I am PGCE qualified Physics teacher, with an experience of 5 years in teaching Physics within secondary schools in London and a 14 year experience in individual tuitions (or small groups), in Physics, Chemistry and Maths, both at GCSE and A Level.
I also taught Biology at GCSE level.
I have collaborated with several educational and tuition centres.
I teach students from KS3 (year 7) to KS5.
