About Ruth
Part of my job role is 'curriculum development' and the leadership and associated CPD to ensure this happens successfully. This also entails working alongside tutors from several local universities and colleges to support adult students entering the profession. I have a proven track record for supporting teaching students at any stage of their course (including turning round 'failing' students) with the practicalities of effective lesson planning, resourcing, pedagogy, delivery, assessment strategies (Afl, gap analysis etc) as well as mentoring students to be reflective and effective and for continuing this support post NQT and through all later stages of an individual's teaching career.

I see removing any barriers to learning and meeting individual needs (for both pupils and teachers) as integral to the job. I am also a firm believer in work-life balance! As such I can;
* provide advice on content, for student teachers on teaching practice, suggest alternative approaches and resources, assist with creating 'learning pathways' to fit in with existing school schemes and meet the needs of pupils with differing abilities (through email/webcam)
* proof read and provide honest and constructive feedback on teaching practice lesson plans (through email/webcam)
* mentor student teachers in order to develop their reflective qualities, leading to greater understanding of all aspects of the teaching job, therefore sustained self development. (email/webcam/face to face if within 20km)
* give guidance on writing a successful job application and advise on interview technique. (email/webcam)
