About Tiana

I am a dedicated and patient tutor with experience working with students in both classroom and one-on-one learning environments. My background in education, combined with my strong knowledge of science and biology, allows me to explain concepts clearly while adapting lessons to each student’s individual learning style. I have taught K–8 students in a classroom setting and coached children and teens in gymnastics, which has strengthened my communication skills, leadership, and ability to keep students engaged and motivated.

I believe successful learning comes from building confidence alongside academic skills. I create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges at their own pace. My lessons are organized, interactive, and tailored to each student’s goals, whether they need help improving grades, preparing for exams, strengthening foundational skills, or gaining confidence in a subject.

I take professionalism seriously by being reliable, prepared, and committed to helping every student succeed. I strive to make learning both effective and enjoyable, and I work hard to ensure students leave each session feeling more confident and capable than before.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is centered around creating a supportive, engaging, and student-focused learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and making mistakes. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to match each student’s needs, learning pace, and goals. I focus on building both understanding and confidence by breaking down difficult concepts into manageable steps and connecting lessons to real-world examples whenever possible.

My teaching methods include guided practice, interactive discussion, visual explanations, and hands-on problem solving. I encourage active participation rather than passive memorization, helping students develop critical thinking and independent learning skills. I also use positive reinforcement and consistent feedback to keep students motivated and aware of their progress.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material and any questions the student may have. From there, I introduce new concepts through explanation, examples, and collaborative practice. I then guide the student through exercises or activities to reinforce understanding before ending with a summary of key points and strategies for continued practice outside of tutoring sessions.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my background working with students of many different ages and learning styles through both classroom teaching and coaching. My experience teaching K–8 students and coaching gymnastics has strengthened my communication, patience, adaptability, and ability to keep students engaged. I strive to make learning approachable, encouraging, and individualized for every student.

My lessons are ideal for elementary and middle school students, particularly in science, biology, mathematics, reading comprehension, and study skills. I also work well with students who need extra support building confidence, organization, and learning strategies in addition to academic content.
