About Shayekh
The HSC year is definitely tough, having someone who can guide you in and out on how to study and what to do with the limited time you are given is crucial especially if you are aiming for competitive courses like Medicine, Law, Dentistry, Engineering etc.
With so many students aiming for these degrees, its important to know how to approach the HSC, preliminary and junior years of high school so you are set.
My approach to teaching is to help build all the foundation you need to get a 95+ ATAR. I always aim to ensure you are accelerated, minimum always a one to two terms ahead. However I do advise being a year ahead to ensure you have a stronger advantage over your peers.
For those aiming for Medicine and Law, I always push those students to aim for 99+ to ensure they have a competitive edge for university admissions.
It will be a lot of hard work, and I know how overwhelming the journey will be especially as HSC is a difficult year where your ATAR will play a huge role in what course and university you gain entry into.

I’ve been teaching for the past 5yrs since I graduated from Macquarie Fields High School in 2019. I graduated with a 96.85 ATAR with three Band 6s:
- 96 in Ext 1 Maths
- 90 in Ext 2 Maths
- 92 in Advanced English
On top of all this, I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Science from Macquarie University (2022), and have done a standalone honours degree from the University of Sydney, where I received First Class Honours (2023).
Over the past couple of years, I’ve taught across three established different tutoring centres, focusing on a wide range of subjects:
- Yr 11 & 12 English (Std & Adv)
- Yr 11 & 12 Maths (2U, 3U, & 4U)
- Yr 7 - 10 Maths
- Yr 7 - 10 English
(Upon completing graduation, my students were selected into their desired university courses.)
I also have experience in teaching:
- Year 3 - 6 English and Maths
- Year 6 Selective Test
- Year 4 OC Test
(My students have gained entry into some of the top selective schools in NSW including Sydney Boys, Sydney Girls, and Hurlstone Agricultural High School.)
My teaching involves going through the syllabus thoroughly, with theory provided, and exam approach as well. I offer both one-on-one and group tutoring sessions, starting from just $20 per hour.
All students receive detailed study notes and practice exam-style questions across all subjects. My hourly rate for one to one is $50 per hour, however group classes are available if you have a friend or two willing to do the class with you. Minimum three students per class at $20 per hour.
