About Jake
I am a Senior First Officer currently flying the Boeing 737NG / MAX and holding a training post within the worlds largest leisure, travel and tourism company.
Having almost 15 years experience working within the aviation sector, in a multitude of roles, application of knowledge and experience has proved hugely beneficial in bringing the ATPL syllabus to life.
Holding posts such as chair of the Flight Crew training and innovation group at the Royal Aeronautical Society and within excess of 10 years experience as an ATPL instructor, training is a huge passion - in particular modernising the way we teach and train our future pilots.

PowerPoint is a useful tool, and in my opinion should be used in moderation!
Bringing a subject to life through utilising experience, using real-life scenarios and basing teaching practices on what you can expect at airline level is, to me, fundamental.
Having had experience in exam question writing for EASA, Learning Objective development and textbook writing for one of Europe’s largest flight training providers, my knowledge of the current syllabus ensures exactly the correct amount of knowledge is obtained whilst being able to confidently wade through the masses of additional information without the uncertainty of ‘missing crucial content’.
For me - dynamic teaching is key. Figuring out how you best learn and how we study as a collective is almost as important as the material itself!
I teach all 14 ATPL subjects.
