About Alexandru

I am a visual artist with a complete academic background and a deep passion for pedagogy. My background includes 8 years of art high school, followed by a Bachelor's and Master's degree at UNARTE Bucharest. This solid education, coupled with an artistic activity recognized by national and international awards and exhibitions, allows me to offer a complete perspective on the world of art — from pure technique to curatorial vision.

Why choose to work with me?

- Proven results: I have over 10 years of experience in preparing students, with a 98% admission rate to specialized high schools and art universities. I know exactly what the examination committees are looking for and how to transform the stress of admission into a successful strategy.

- Expertise from the ground up: Founder of IARA (Ivan Atelier of Realist Art) and former National Olympian (2010), I teach drawing and painting using traditional academic methods.

- Personalized Mentoring: Whether you are a future professional artist or a passionate enthusiast, my approach is a 'coaching' one. I don't just show you how to paint, I teach you the mental process behind each brush stroke, building the confidence to push your own limits. I believe that art is best learned in an environment of respect and understanding, where rigorous technique meets individual sensitivity. I look forward to seeing you at the classes to transform your potential into excellence.

About the lesson

My methodology and approach:

Art is not just talent, but a discipline that is learned through observation and rigorous technique. With over 10 years of teaching experience and over 20 years of art education, my approach combines the rigor of traditional academic methods (the study of form, value and color) with a deep understanding of each student's individual needs. At IARA - Ivan Atelier of Realist Art, I emphasize "learning to see" before "learning to draw".

My method is structured, yet adaptive: I guide the student through the logical stages of image construction, while providing the emotional support necessary to overcome creative blocks.

Structure of a typical lesson

Each session is a balanced mix of applied theory and practice:

- Visual analysis: we discuss the objectives of the day and analyze references or the work in progress.

- Technical demonstration: I paint or draw alongside the student to exemplify gesture, color mixing or geometric construction.

- Guided practice: the student works, receiving real-time feedback to improve the "eye" and technique.

- Review: we finish the class with a conclusion on the progress and steps for individual study.

Who are the courses aimed at?

Whether you are just starting out or want to refine your technique, my courses are suitable for:

- Pupils and students: Intensive preparation for admission to Art High School or University of Arts.

- Adults and enthusiast: Those who want to learn realistic painting as a form of meditation or personal development.

- Future professional artists: Who seek to master Old Masters-type techniques.

Why choose me?

What sets me apart is my ability to create a safe space for learning. I know that the artistic path can be vulnerable, that's why I combine the standards of a national Olympian (2010), with the patience and empathy necessary for every beginning. I don't just provide techniques, I build the confidence that any vision can be translated onto canvas or paper through the right work and guidance.
