About Yakub

I am a professional composer, pianist, and educator who has 14 years of teaching experience. My students went on to win International Competitions and performed in Carnegie Hall.

My number one job is to make sure that you see and believe in your potential and to create the right path for your success. Together, we will develop your very own sound, whether it is in your composition, your improvisation, or your piano playing.

My composition has been featured in NETFLIX, BBC(British Broadcasting Company), and PBS Masterpiece, among others, and has been featured in TV shows such as Poldark and The Affair, among others. In addition to that, my composition is distributed by APM Music, EMI, MPATH, and Alvani Tunes.

Besides my studio works, I also play for different regional and international artists in the studio setting as well as on stage and in Los Angeles venues. I have been a music director and have shared the stage with some International artists in Los Angeles such as Abraham Laboriel, Tommy Walker, Zhavia, Lea Simanjuntak, among others.

My formal education includes the University of Houston and Shepherd University.

About the lesson

STEP 1: We will assess your current ability and knowledge of the Piano.

STEP 2: We create a Personalized Lessons Plan according to your GOAL and current ability.

STEP 3: We start learning with the least amount of friction possible.

The goal of this lesson is to get to where you want to be, by having a Clear Personalized Plan and together developing a Routine that works best for you.

As a piano teacher with a composition, classical, and jazz background, I design my lessons to best fit YOUR ability, and goals and help you to achieve them in such an easy and enjoyable way. You will develop great confidence in your piano playing and your composition. Because of the incremental progress that you'll see immediately in every session.

I love it when my students open their eyes so BIG, the moment they realize they've just accomplished something they never thought possible. Whether it is to play "Chopin Etude", Improvise on "Giant Steps", or write a full orchestral score.

I love to inspire my students with Fascinating next steps in their musical journey while maintaining discipline in the students' thrive to Mastery.
