About Amelia
Current OCAD Illustration student and BFA graduate from Queen's University specializing in painting and with a minor in Art History. Illustrations published in The Queen's Journal and The Globe and Mail.
I'm a recent graduate with a Bachelors degree in Fine Art (Studio Arts) with a specialization in painting. Throughout the past three years I have worked in oil painting, watercolour, printmaking and digital painting. While my focus is illustration, I am highly skilled in representational painting, figure painting and still lives.
I have taught art classes for local galleries for the past four years, for families, kids and individuals.
Currently, I’m on my second creative degree focusing on illustration and graphic design, studying at OCAD.
My lessons can focus in either a formal fine art direction or a more playful illustrative approach, depending on your goals as a student.
I specialize in portfolio development for high school students to ensure that you’re a competitive applicant for Canadian art universities and colleges.

My classes are focused on foundational skills and techniques. I aim to give you the structure to produce stunning drawings and paintings. My classes begin with core skills, with deliverables by the end of each session.
Beginners are welcome to try out my classes and explore their skills. Due to the ongoing pandemic, I am unable to provide materials but will provide a suggested materials list. My classes are adapted to your specific interests and goals.
I also offer portfolio building exercises designed to offer a competitive portfolio to get you into a studio art university or college degree. My projects are designed to build a well-rounded body of work that displays your skills and visual communication style. I can tailor tutoring sessions to specific universities and degree programs.
