About Mia
I have received a bachelors in Agriculture Education and a masters in Agriculture Science from Washington State University. I also have earned my National Boards certification in 2023. I have many strategies to help scaffold students to understand whatever I am instructing.
I have taught in a small district (250 students 6-12 grades) so I have had the pleasure on instructing small classes. I love making relationships with the students I teach. I believe these relationships are the foundation to a successful education.

I have taught 8th-12th grade agriculture science for 8 years. I have taught a wide variety of classes: Landscape and floral design, plant biology, and I am CASE certified in Food Science and Introduction to Agriculture (AFNR). I am able to tutor in concepts such as plant anatomy and physiology, plant identification, classification, and more in the Plant Biology area. I am able to tutor on food chemistry, preservation, safety, HACCP, etc. like I said, I have a wide variety of skills I am confident in tutoring in because of my years in education.
