About Shan

I’m Shan and have been teaching piano and vocals for the past 11 years. As soon as I graduated, I started teaching and have taught in many schools in Wellington City. I have a good track record of students all passing their exams under my tutelage. Last year, I had a student do a grade 6 online piano exam, and he passed with distinction 100/100.

About the lesson

My teaching style is catering to each students need. For example, I have students that really want to play a certain song, and even if it’s difficult, I’ll adapt it to suit their level so they can still achieve what they want. I can help with classical, jazz, pop and rock styles.

Perfect! I was a complete beginner when I started with Shan, and after just a few months I feel like I've made great progress. I really like the balance between learning theory and the more practical side of playing songs. Shan is a great teacher and a really cool person, and I'd definitely recommend her!
