About Ilan
I am passionate about teaching other people, and gain great satisfaction in helping them achieve their goals! This is especially true for Maths as I have always enjoyed the problem-solving aspect of the subject as well as challenging students at my secondary school's Maths Support Club to approach a variety of questions.
My passion for teaching also extends beyond Maths, as I also informally give career and job application advice on LinkedIn to students, particularly of Bayes Business School. Additionally, I enjoy teaching my sisters how to play basketball, whilst bringing out their competitive edge!

During my time in Sixth Form as joint leader of Maths Support Club at JFS School, I helped dozens of KS3 and GCSE students complete their homework and prepare for tests. This has enabled me to become adaptable to the specific learning needs of each student, so that I can assist them most effectively.
My flexible and patient approach to tutoring involves adapting the pace and length of the lessons to the needs of my students. If a student struggles more with a particular topic, I am happy to increase the length of our lessons beyond 1 hour to ensure that they fully understand the subject.
Since Maths as a subject is based on problem-solving, I believe that practice is crucial to improving performance. I would therefore set a manageable amount of homework on a weekly basis, identifying the questions which test the student's understanding of the subject matter in different ways. This would ensure that they are comfortable in approaching a broad range of maths problems.
