About Lara
Hello, my name is Lara. I am currently studying for my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and have two years of tutoring experience. I teach Afrikaans and English and enjoy helping learners grow in confidence and understanding. I am passionate about teaching because I believe every student can succeed with the right support and encouragement. My goal is to create a positive and comfortable learning space where students feel motivated and proud of their progress.

I offer supportive and structured Afrikaans and English lessons tailored to each learner’s needs. As a Bachelor of Education student with two years of tutoring experience, I use a patient and practical teaching approach. I break work down into simple steps so learners can understand clearly and build confidence. I believe learning should feel safe and encouraging, not stressful.
I am fluent in both English and Afrikaans and can teach in either language depending on the learner’s needs.
In a typical lesson, we revise previous work, practise new concepts, and do guided activities to make sure the learner understands. I include reading, speaking, writing, and comprehension practice where needed.
My lessons are aimed at primary and high school learners who need support, revision, or help building a strong foundation in Afrikaans or English. I also help students who want to improve their confidence and overall performance.
