About Penelope
I am a passionate singing instructor with over six years of experience helping students of all levels discover and refine their vocal abilities. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre Voice, which has provided me with a solid foundation in both classical technique and contemporary performance. My training spans Classical, Pop, Rock, and Country styles, allowing me to guide students across diverse genres. I focus on ear development, harmony, improvisation, and music theory to build confident and versatile singers.
In my lessons, I prioritize personalized coaching, tailoring exercises to each student’s voice and goals. We work on breath control, pitch accuracy, and vocal agility to strengthen technique. I also emphasize musical expression and emotional connection, helping students convey the story and feeling behind every song. Stage readiness is a key component of my teaching, preparing students to perform with confidence and poise.
I integrate sight-singing, improvisation, and harmony exercises to enhance overall musicianship. My approach combines structured technique with creative exploration, making each session engaging and effective. For The Crossover Artist, lessons emphasize versatility while still grounding skills in music theory. Notation reading becomes practical, applying scales, intervals, and chords to pop, jazz, and fusion pieces. Rhythm exercises focus on syncopation and groove, using rhythm trainers and backing tracks. Harmony building involves creating vocal layers and experimenting with chordal arrangements. Sight-singing apps and notation tools allow instant practice and experimentation outside the studio. By connecting ear, mind, and voice, students develop agility and confidence. Short exercises alternate with longer creative sessions to keep learning engaging. Over time, both personas grow more expressive, technically secure, and musically literate.
