About Howard
Does a focused environment not make the most difficult technical passages suddenly clear? My background in the Montreal Symphony Orchestra informs how I explain spiccato and staccato bowing to my students. I use the ORFF and Kodály methodology to ensure that sight reading and ear training feel natural. My Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music provides the foundation for our classical repertoire work.
We balance posture and hold with music theory to build a complete musician. I truly enjoy seeing how these specific techniques elevate a student performance.

Teens and performance focused students often come to me when they are stuck. I admit that I find the RCM Grade 1 through Grade 10 syllabus challenging but essential for true growth.
My 13 years of experience started well before joining the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. I hold a Bachelor of Music from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music.
Teaching out of my Ottawa studio allows me to refine my ORFF and Kodály methodology daily. I work with intermediate learners and kids who are ready to commit to rigorous practice.
Developing a strong tone and technical facility is my main focus for every pupil. I share a monthly progress report with parents to ensure everyone is aligned. Please reach out if you seek a warm and expressive mentor.
