About Aimee

With 5 years of experience teaching and performing the violin, I am passionate about helping students develop both technical mastery and a lifelong love for music. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering the basics to advanced learners preparing for performances, exams, and competitions.

One of my proudest achievements has been guiding students from struggling with posture, technique, or stage confidence to performing confidently and expressively in front of audiences. My teaching focuses on building strong foundations, including posture, finger placement, bow control, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical expression, and emotional interpretation.

I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and listening exercises to help students develop a holistic understanding of music. I personalise lessons to suit each student’s pace, learning style, and goals, creating a positive, motivating, and inspiring environment.

Teaching violin allows me to not only impart musical skills but also cultivate discipline, confidence, and a genuine love for learning in each student.

About the lesson

I teach violin using a methodology rooted in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to develop musicians who are technically proficient, expressive, and confident. Lessons are fully personalised to each student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, ensuring a perfect balance between technical mastery, creative exploration, and performance preparation.

Motivation is central to my approach. I guide students to set clear, achievable goals, track progress meticulously, and celebrate every milestone, fostering engagement, perseverance, and self-confidence. Students are encouraged to see the value in each exercise and understand how it contributes to their overall growth. Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive. Students are free to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas, creating a trusting and encouraging learning environment.

Creativity is a key component. I incorporate improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises into every lesson, allowing students to develop their own artistic voice while connecting emotionally with music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that ensure consistent progress and long-term success.

In addition to violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, giving students a well-rounded musical foundation. This comprehensive approach ensures students grow technically, creatively, and emotionally while developing a lifelong passion for music.
