About Ella

With 6 years of teaching and performing experience, I am an experienced violin tutor dedicated to helping students achieve technical mastery, artistic expression, and self-confidence. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners exploring foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.

One of the most fulfilling milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with technique, posture, or rhythm to performers capable of playing with precision, emotion, and musical interpretation.

My teaching emphasises building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance. I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students gain a complete understanding of music.

Lessons are adapted to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music in every student.

About the lesson

I teach violin with a methodology based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, aiming to develop technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are customised to the student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, combining technical exercises, creative exploration, improvisation, and performance preparation.

Motivation drives learning. I help students set clear goals, monitor progress, and celebrate achievements, fostering perseverance, self-confidence, and enthusiasm. Students are encouraged to see challenges as opportunities for growth and to enjoy the process of learning music.

Communication ensures lessons are interactive and collaborative, creating a safe space for students to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas. This strengthens engagement and trust, making learning more effective.

Creativity is integrated into each lesson. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises help students discover their artistic voice and develop a deep emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that ensure long-term growth and excellence.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm, and introductory piano, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of music that supports both academic and performance success.
