About Wataru
Just to give you a quick story about myself, back in 2019, I was a clueless, self-taught language learner. I started teaching myself English, and I reached a C2 level of English proficiency with all the self-learning techniques and methodology that I have learned in the last 5 years.
I ended up working for international companies as a bilingual customer experience specialist and translator/proofreader until I started my journey to become a freelance Japanese language tutor in 2022.
As I was a self-taught learner, I have always wanted to be a tutor who can help all learners learn Japanese in more efficient and enjoyable ways.
My teaching methodology might be a little bit unique as I don't like to give you a big 'lecture' during my lessons. Instead what I do is to offer ways to actually 'learn and acquire a language'.
Through my experience, I have learned that self-learning is one of the most efficient yet inevitable processes to acquire a language. I am here to help you maximise its potential, and of course, to help you learn the language in easier ways.

I offer online Japanese lessons here on superprof. I have taught more than 50 students all across the world and have completed over 1000 online lessons as a Japanese language tutor in the last 1.5 years.
I am excited to help all learners at all levels who are over 17 years old. The only thing I ask you to have is your passion and interest in learning Japanese. I assure you that your current level does not matter at all!
