About Alexa

Hello! My name is Alexa, and I am a bilingual Spanish tutor with a strong passion for education and language learning. Spanish was my first language, and I earned a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Spanish, graduating Magna Cum Laude. I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Madrid, Spain, where I further developed my language skills and appreciation for Spanish culture.

In addition to tutoring, I have three years of experience working with students in school settings, including two years as a substitute teacher and one year as a paraprofessional. These experiences have taught me how to connect with students, adapt to different learning styles, and create a supportive learning environment.

My goal is to help students build confidence in their Spanish skills while making learning enjoyable and approachable. Whether you are just beginning or looking to strengthen your speaking, reading, writing, or grammar skills, I am committed to helping you reach your goals at your own pace.

About the lesson

My approach as a Spanish tutor is to create a supportive and comfortable environment where students feel confident practicing the language. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to the student's goals, whether they need help with a class, want to improve their conversational skills, prepare for exams, or strengthen their grammar and writing.

A typical lesson may include vocabulary practice, conversation activities, reading passages, grammar review, and interactive exercises. I like to focus on real-life language use so students can apply what they learn outside of tutoring sessions.

What sets me apart is my bilingual background and educational experience. Spanish was my first language, and I earned a minor in Spanish while completing my bachelor's degree. I also studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, which allowed me to further develop my language skills and cultural understanding. In addition, my experience working in schools has helped me learn how to adapt instruction to meet the needs of different learners.

My lessons are open to students of all ages and levels, from beginners who are just starting to learn Spanish to students who want extra support in their Spanish classes or individuals looking to improve their fluency and confidence.
