About Alexander

My name is Alex and I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tulane University with a degree in Biochemistry. I scored 96th percentile on the MCAT exam and will be entering medical school in the Fall of 2024! I have experience working as a tutor for undergrads in the hard sciences and have helped many students succeed in difficult classses. My deep background in STEM classes combined with my energetic and fun personality make me the perfect person to help you kill your classes!

About the lesson

Hello students! I have been around the block with hard courses and have both struggled and learned to succeed with different learning methods. Everyone struggles with something in hard courses... that's why they are hard! I am here to give you the resources and skills to conquer that class you thought you wouldnt be able to succeed in. I try to make my lessons fun with just the right amount of challenging material, active recall, and spaced repitition to help you learn. We will break down complex topics into digestible chunks and practice practice practice.

Perfect! Alexander was very professional and flexible with my schedule. He’s helping me with basic chemistry I highly recommend him as your tutor!

Alexander's response
Jordyn is clearly invested in her class and is determined to succeed. She is taking the right steps towards doing well in her class. I think the biggest thing for Jordyn is to do tons of practice problems. Once she understands the concept, she is able to apply what she learned to solve the problem. Practice manipulating the equations to solve for different things (IE, percent composition by mass, mass of solute, total mass of solution etc). Also, practice converting between units. So much of general chemistry becomes much easier when you know how to manipulate units.

Alexander is a fantastic tutor for STEM classes, especially bio, chem,
and math. While never tutored in an official capacity, I had the
opportunity to work on projects and study with Alex. He is a pro at
tackling complex problems and making them digestible, and catering to
different learning styles. His passion for his studies combined with
his energetic personality make for a great tutor.

Alexander is very committed to his work. My experience with him was during my mcat studying, in which he tutored me. He provided me with every resource and throughly explained the reasoning behind every answer. Most importantly, he is someone with natural leadership qualities and that is very apparent in the way he interacts with people. He has a natural talent at getting his students motivated to do well, which I think speaks to his interpersonal skills. A student would be very lucky to have Alexander as his tutor. He is genuine and has the ability to communicate his knowledge, which I find very rare.

As Alex's classmate, I have been taught by him on countless occasions. In addition to his innate ability to pick up new concepts, he excels at breaking down these concepts into bite-sized, more digestible pieces of information. His passion for Biology in and out of the classroom permeates nearly everything he does. I strongly recommend choosing Alex as your instructor on Superprof if you wish to have someone who is informative, patient, and understands more than one learning style. As someone who studied alongside him, I can say with confidence that he is incredibly knowledgeable and a fantastic teacher!
