About Alvia
Hi! I'm Alvia, a university Biology student who enjoys helping others learn. I've always liked breaking down complicated topics into smaller, easier-to-understand pieces, and I'd love to bring that into my tutoring lessons. I also have experience working at Kumon Learning Center!
I'm friendly, patient, and easy to talk to, and I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions without worrying about getting something wrong. I understand that math can be frustrating sometimes, so my goal is to make lessons feel encouraging and actually enjoyable.
Whether your child needs a little extra help with homework, wants to strengthen their math skills, or is preparing for a test, I'm happy to work with them at their own pace. I look forward to helping students become more confident in math!

I want to make math feel easier and less stressful for elementary and junior high students. As a university Biology student, I've developed strong problem-solving skills, and I also know that everyone learns differently. I'm especially comfortable breaking things down into smaller, manageable steps and adjusting my lessons to each student's pace.
I like to work through problems step-by-step, use examples and practice questions, and make sure the student actually understands the concepts instead of just memorizing a formula. A typical lesson will start with reviewing what they're learning, going over anything they're struggling with, and then practicing together before encouraging them to attempt the problem on their own.
My goal is to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence. Whether they need help with homework, a specific topic, or test preparation, I'll tailor each lesson to what they need most.
