About Elena

My name is Elena and I a degree in Medical Biosciences from Imperial College London. I am now researching cancer medicine a Kings College London. I have had 3 years of lab experience in molecular biology, cancer biology, drug screening and have strong data analysis skills. I’ve tutored Maths and Science for 5+ years to students of varying abilities, so have developed a good understanding of how to cater to different levels of ability. I received A*A*A in Maths, Biology and Chemistry A-Level.

About the lesson

I like to personalise my approach to each student's capabilities and interests and to use their interests to assist in other areas of Biology so that it is enjoyable whilst challenging at the same time. Maths is required in Biology and my maths A-Level will aid in teaching the fundamentals of Maths in biology. I have an advanced understanding in chemistry due to my chemistry A-Level and biochemistry modules in University so teaching chemistry within Biology is also something I can offer. The most important thing to me is ensuring students grasp an understanding of their subjects and not just ‘memorising’ content which can show up badly in an exam. So my method of teaching focuses on ideas and contexts of each module required for the student so that they leave with a well-rounded understanding of the topic. Includes all notes from lesson and practice questions.
