About Karishma
I’m a university biology student with a strong academic background, including a 4.0+ average throughout high school, and I bring both subject expertise and a supportive, student-focused teaching style. I also have experience working with children at the Big Brother Big Sisters Club as a mentor. My goal is to help students feel confident in biology by turning challenging concepts into clear, manageable ideas that actually make sense—not just something to memorize.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my explanations and pace to match individual needs. Whether a student is struggling to keep up, aiming to improve grades, or looking to build a stronger foundation for future science courses, I focus on meeting them where they are and helping them move forward step by step.
I take a structured but encouraging approach to learning, combining clear explanations with guided practice and regular review to ensure real understanding and long-term retention. I also emphasize strong study habits and foundational skills that are especially important for success in high school and university-level science.

My teaching approach is centered on making biology feel simple, supportive, and actually enjoyable to learn. Each lesson includes a gentle review of key ideas, guided teaching of new concepts, practice together, and a final recap to build confidence and clarity.
As a university biology student who maintained a 4.0+ average throughout high school, I understand what helps students succeed early on and what skills they should strengthen for future science courses. I also know how overwhelming biology can feel at times, so I focus on helping students build strong foundations without pressure, while developing effective study habits that actually last.
What makes me different is my patience, encouragement, and ability to explain concepts in a way that feels relatable rather than intimidating. I aim to create a comfortable space where students feel confident asking questions and improving step by step.
My lessons are best suited for middle school and high school students who want support in biology and foundational life science topics.
