About Ofelya

I'm Ofelya, a PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis. With a solid academic background from the University of Oklahoma in Biochemistry, I bring a robust understanding of STEM fields to each tutoring session. Throughout my educational journey, I have been committed to excellence, not just in my own studies but in helping others achieve their academic goals. About the lesson

I am Ofelya, a passionate third-year PhD candidate at UC Davis, specializing in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry

I have over a year of experience tutoring students for their SAT and ACT exams, and another year spent in a tutoring center, where I helped students excel in Math, Biology, and Chemistry. Additionally, I teach Armenian to young children at an Armenian school in Sacramento, an experience that has greatly enhanced my teaching skills, communication abilities, and adaptability to different student age groups.

Teaching Method and Techniques: My approach to tutoring is student-centered and adaptive. I believe in building a strong, foundational understanding of concepts, followed by interactive problem-solving sessions. I use a variety of tools and techniques, including visual aids, real-life examples, and interactive quizzes to keep the lessons engaging and effective.

Typical Lesson Plan: A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material, followed by an introduction to new concepts. Most of the session is dedicated to hands-on practice through exercises and discussions, ensuring that students not only understand the material but can also apply their knowledge effectively. I conclude each session with a summary of what we covered and a preview of what's next, setting clear expectations and goals.
