About Kavindi Amanthika

Hi there! I’m Vindy, and I’m passionate about helping students succeed through clear, supportive, and engaging teaching. With a 2:1 honours degree in Applied Medical Sciences from Swansea University, I specialise in breaking down complex topics in biology and mathematics to help students understand and apply them with confidence. During my time of doing A Levels, I successfully guided myself from a C to an A* in Edexcel IAL Chemistry by creating tailored lesson plans, simplifying challenging concepts, and providing targeted exam preparation strategies. Teaching has always been a passion of mine—I love seeing students gain clarity and achieve their goals. My approach is personalised and interactive, ensuring that every lesson is tailored to your unique needs and learning style. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy playing the piano, photography and DIY projects. These interests help me bring creativity and energy into my lessons, making learning both effective and enjoyable! About the lesson

While at Swansea University, I frequently assisted fellow students in understanding challenging medical science concepts, helping them prepare for exams and improve their coursework. I have also been mentoring children from Sri Lanka for their Edexcel IGCSE and IAL exams since 2019. Each lesson is typically 2 hours. I understand life gets busy, so I offer flexible lesson times to fit your schedule. Learning with me is convenient and hassle-free! I believe in a student-centred approach to teaching that adapts to each learner’s unique needs and goals. My methodology includes: Personalised Lesson Plans: Tailoring lessons based on the student’s skill level, learning style, and objectives. Interactive and Engaging Sessions: Incorporating multimedia resources, practice questions, and real-world examples to make learning enjoyable and relatable. Progress Tracking: Regular assessments to monitor improvement and identify areas for further development. Building Confidence: Encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and approach challenges with a growth mindset.
