About Ritu

I am a dedicated flute tutor with 9 years of teaching experience and nearly 150 students successfully trained across beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. My teaching philosophy focuses on building a strong technical foundation while encouraging creativity and confidence.

I emphasise correct posture, breath control, embouchure formation, tone development, articulation clarity, and finger coordination in every lesson. I believe that mastering the fundamentals creates long-term musical success.

I design personalised lesson plans based on each student’s goals and pace, ensuring structured and consistent progress. I also provide clear guidance on effective practice methods to help students improve between sessions. One of my key strengths is my patient approach and ability to simplify complex techniques into manageable steps. I create a disciplined yet friendly environment where students feel supported and motivated.

My goal is to develop confident, expressive, and technically skilled flute players.

About the lesson

My flute teaching methodology focuses on holistic musical development, adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I aim to develop students who are technically skilled, musically expressive, and confident performers.

Lessons start with posture, breath control, embouchure, tone production, and finger coordination. I use progressive exercises, scales, and rhythm drills to build technical proficiency, followed by expressive techniques such as dynamics, phrasing, and interpretation.

Alongside practical training, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and rhythm comprehension to strengthen overall musicianship. This ensures that students can connect technical skills with musical understanding.

Flexibility allows me to adapt lessons to individual goals, learning speeds, and levels. Collaboration is encouraged through discussions, repertoire selection, and goal-setting exercises.

I maintain a positive and motivating environment where students feel encouraged to explore and develop their abilities. My aim is to nurture confident, disciplined, and passionate flute musicians who enjoy lifelong musical growth.
