About Agnes
I am an enthusiastic flute tutor with 9 years of experience and a proven record of teaching approximately 150 students from beginner to advanced levels. My teaching philosophy combines technical precision with creative expression. I focus on essential techniques such as breath control, embouchure stability, articulation clarity, rhythm accuracy, and finger agility.
Once students gain control over these fundamentals, I guide them towards expressive phrasing and dynamic performance skills. I carefully assess each student’s strengths and areas for improvement to create personalised lesson plans. My unique ability is identifying subtle technical issues and correcting them through focused exercises.
I maintain patience and encouragement in every session while promoting discipline and consistency. My aim is not only to teach flute techniques but also to inspire students to express themselves confidently through music.

My flute teaching methodology emphasises progressive skill-building, adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style to ensure steady, effective progress.
Lessons begin with posture, breath control, and embouchure formation to establish a strong foundation. Once basics are mastered, I introduce finger exercises, scales, rhythm drills, and articulation practice. I gradually incorporate expressive techniques, including dynamics, phrasing, and stylistic interpretation.
I integrate music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and rhythm understanding alongside practical practice. This holistic approach ensures students develop technical mastery and musical awareness simultaneously.
Flexibility allows me to adjust lesson pace and content based on goals, level, and progress. Collaboration is encouraged through repertoire selection, shared goal-setting, and open discussion.
I maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment that celebrates progress and motivates students to grow. My goal is to develop confident, disciplined, and expressive flute musicians.
