About Hetal
I am a confident, experienced primary school teacher and tutor. I am passionate about providing young children with the right foundations to build from at secondary. I have been a teacher for 16 years and have been an English lead for 8 years. I understand the challenges faced by students and would like to equip them with the tools to succeed. My degree was in BSc (H) Biochemistry and Microbiology and I taught as a secondary science teacher for 5 years.

My focus is to support Key Stage 2 students achieve 100+ on their KS2 SATs so that they can stand out among their peers and have a strong foundation for the more advanced curriculum in secondary school using my unique 'Get Ready for SATS Method'.
5 steps to SATS success:
1) Mindset: I coach students to persevere, show dedication, and to have a growth mindset so they stay motivated, and maintain a positive attitude throughout the preparation process.
2) Set Clear Goals: I will start by setting clear and realistic goals for the desired SATs score because having a clear goal provides motivation and helps you stay focused throughout the preparation process.
3) Understand the Test Format: I will help the students become familiar with the format and structure of the SATs so they can approach the test strategically and optimize their performance.
4) Practice Regularly: I will focus on both content review and timed practice sessions to build familiarity with the exam's format and pacing so we can identify areas of weakness and make targeted improvements.
5) Review and Analyse Mistakes: We will identify the underlying reasons for mistakes and seek to understand the concepts or strategies that need improvement so students can learn from their errors, avoid repeating them, and refine their test-taking strategies so they can have increased confidence in taking their SATS.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes over zoom. All lessons are planned to reconsolidate learning and to address misconceptions as well as teaching new concepts. Students can interact and engage with no time wasted in travel or pleasantries. Homework and feedback are set weekly via google classroom.
