About Adam

Hello! I’m Adam Kuei and I’m excited to share my passion for teaching Mandarin Chinese with you. With over three years of experience as a tutor for children, I have honed my skills in making learning both effective and enjoyable. My background includes teaching Mandarin and math to students aged 10-14, where I developed engaging lessons and tailored my approach to meet each student's needs.

Currently, I’m studying at the University of Sydney and working in Australia. I’m eager to leverage my extensive tutoring experience to offer part-time Chinese lessons. My goal is to help students of all ages build their Mandarin skills and gain confidence in using the language.

About the lesson

I designed my classes for complete beginners to intermediate Chinese learners.

The coursework is typically organized into two lessons per week, each lasting approximately 25-30 minutes. Additional lessons can be scheduled based on the student’s availability.

At least one lesson per week will focus on thematic vocabulary, where students learn Chinese words and phrases used in everyday situations, such as greetings, family interactions, directions, and shopping for groceries.

As students build their vocabulary, we will start incorporating lessons on grammar and writing into the weekly program. Using the vocabulary learned, we will explore basic sentence structures and common grammatical patterns. Additionally, students will practice writing characters by learning stroke order and radicals, reinforcing their understanding of the language.
