About Owen

I am an experienced piano tutor with 14+ years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages, from young school beginners to college students and working professionals.

My teaching philosophy is to provide a supportive, engaging, and personalized learning experience where students feel confident to explore music, develop technical skills, and express themselves creatively.

I have helped students perform in recitals, complete graded exams, and participate in competitions, achieving both skill development and recognition. Lessons focus on technique, sight-reading, music theory, improvisation, and performance skills, all adapted to the student’s level and goals.

I aim to make piano learning inspiring, rewarding, and enjoyable, helping students build confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy focuses on compassion, communication, and supportiveness. I believe every student learns differently, and I adapt my lessons to suit individual needs. In piano lessons, I emphasize understanding both technique and musical expression, ensuring students feel confident and motivated.

I encourage open communication, so students can ask questions and share their goals. By providing a supportive environment, I help students overcome challenges and build self-confidence. My approach also includes using real-life examples and relatable exercises to make learning enjoyable.

Beyond piano, I can assist with music theory, basic composition, and other relevant subjects, using the same supportive and compassionate approach. I aim to create a positive and inspiring space where students can grow at their own pace while developing both skills and creativity. My goal is not only to teach music but also to nurture a lifelong love for learning.
