About Luke
I have been professionally employed as an English and Special Education teacher for 5 years in multiple settings ranging from innercity classrooms to rural settings; full classes of 30+ students to specialized settings with 1:1 approach. I have enjoyed watching students not only succeed in passing Regents and ELA State Assessments but also develop creatively in their self-expression.

My method is student-centered with a focus on socio-emotional development through written and spoken expression, pairing text to student needs and focusing on literary elements/writers' craft specific to each text. Professionally, I work with Regents level students with a focus on argumentative writing and analytical reading. However, I have proofed and tutored for student's applying for/pursuing PhD programs. Developing a sense of audience, platform and personal attachment to the message are the foundations of my approach to writing.
