About Jo
I have three years experience as a full-time English teacher in a government primary school here in Thailand (Grades 1,2, 5 and 6). This has seen me work with students day in, day out in groups of approximately 20-30. My greatest joy has been watching my final year students receiving the exam results that will give them entry to their high school of choice.
Furthermore, I have one year's experience face to face tutoring a wide range of levels and ages.
These include advanced essay writing; IGCSE, IELTS and University entrance exam preparation; young learners reading skills; and basic writing courses.

I am Philosophy BA graduate from the UK, and have been working as a CELTA qualified teacher in South East Asia for three years. This has allowed me to work with non-native English speakers who are seeking to progress in a English as a subject,rather than a language.
Having taught ages 4 to 25 in both classroom and private tutoring situations, I am very flexible, and good at recognizing how best to engage with an individuals preferred learning style. One thing that it is important at every level is the development of self-analysis and critical thinking. My ideal situation would be that every student of mine eventually leaves having developed the skills to continue improving by themselves, and a life-long love of learning.
